The location of the hostel was excellent, despite the steep hill. It was close to the train station and the town center, making it convenient for exploring. the grounds were also lovely and well maintained. the common areas were spacious and the kitchen was well stocked, which made it easy to cook meals. the staff were friendly and helpful, and their beautiful dog was a nice bonus.
There were a few issues that could be addressed to make the hostel even better. Some parts of the bedding were missing and it would have been nice to have a towel included in the price.

I absolutely loved the location of this hostel. Nestled in a serene garden down the hill, I felt like I was in my own little oasis. the best part was spotting a graceful deer in the garden, a truly magical experience. the rooms were surprisingly spacious and clean, exceeding my expectations for a hostel. the communal kitchen and lounge area were well-equipped and provided a comfortable space to relax and socialize. the service was warm and friendly, making me feel right at home.
the water temperature in the shower seemed to only have two settings - hot or extra hot.

The location of the hostel was a big win for us. It was conveniently close to a train station and a town center, making it easy to explore the area. The facilities were well-maintained, and the kitchen provided fantastic amenities, including tea, coffee. The rooms were modern and comfortable, with comfortable beds and great showers. We also appreciated the cozy common area with couches, perfect for relaxing.
One aspect that let the hostel down was the showers. They had low water pressure, making it difficult to rinse properly.

The surrounding area was beautiful and green, providing a nice atmosphere. I had a 4-bedroom to myself, which was a pleasant surprise.- The cozy lounge with couches was a comfortable space to relax.
The lack of staff presence was quite frustrating. I didn't receive clear instructions about my bed number or what to do with the key upon check-out.

The facility was clean, bright, and modern, with self-check-in that was hassle-free. I was impressed with the well-stocked kitchen, offering tea, coffee, milk, and cereal. The room I stayed in was pleasant, with a comfortable bed and a great shower. Despite being a youth hostel, it was surprisingly quiet, and I had a peaceful night's sleep. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hostel.

The communal area and kitchen were great amenities to have, and I enjoyed the peaceful and safe surroundings. The hostel has recently been renovated and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. the kitchen was well-equipped and the lounge area was relaxing, with headphones available for a silent disco. the staff were warm and friendly, and the location was convenient for exploring the local area.
One of the shower curtains in my room had mold stains, which was a bit off-putting. the rest of the room and facilities were clean and well-maintained.

The value for money at Iou was excellent - for just £10 more than a Premier Inn, I had a cosy and comfortable room all to myself. The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful greenery and with fine views of the mountains from my window. The staff were helpful and cute, making me feel right at home.

The old building had so much character and the location was perfect for exploring. We felt safe and cozy as solo travelers, especially with the great common areas and kitchen facilities. The 4-person room was a great value and the view of the mountains from the window was amazing. The manager made us feel welcome and her dog was an absolute sweetheart. We'll definitely be returning to Iou when we come back to the area! I highly recommend this hostel.

Stayed at a hostel in this city and loved it! The hostel had spacious rooms and great facilities like a clean and well-equipped communal kitchen and lounge. The location was also convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the main area and close to some beautiful walks. Best of all, I was lucky enough to see a deer in the garden! The staff were also friendly and helpful.
Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.
